Frequently Asked Questions: S.E.VEN Fund Mini-Grants
Q. I am seeking funds to provide direct services, such as food and shelter, through my church/non-profit/organization. Does the S.E.VEN Fund provide funding for this type of request?
A. At this time, the S.E.VEN Fund is unable to provide funding for direct services. However, there are a number of organizations working in this area. More information can be found in foundation directories such as www.foundationcenter.org.
Q. What is the maximum amount of funding you will provide through this program?
A. The S.E.VEN Fund's mini-grants do not exceed $10,000 per mini-grant. This program is intended to expand S.E.VEN's reach and to provide catalystic funding to innovative projects seeking seed capital. Programs requiring more capital are encouraged to apply through our regular grants competitions; more information information about our current contests and competitions can be found online.
Q. What types of projects do you typically fund?
A. S.E.VEN funding is intended to catalyze, support and disseminate research on questions of economic development, prosperity and entrepreneurship. Our projects are typically research-based or involve the creative use of the media - books, film, the Web, organizing conferences, etc.

A. S.E.VEN considers funding requests for mini-grants on an ongoing basis. You can apply for funding by filling our our online mini-grant request form.
Entrepreneurs create products, services and jobs. They expand economies, improve people's lives, provide employment (high and rising wages) and bring about competition. A competitive environment, in turn, gives rise to efficiency, meritocracy and further innovations and entrepreneurial drive.
The potent combination of entrepreneurship and technological innovation can forge an environment that is conducive to further enterprise, involving even government policy in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.
